Super good food and incredibly child-friendly!
It tasted good but there are better restaurants and food, the service was friendly.
If you get more than you expect, then you are in the Golden Cross in Coburg. Any time. Franconian cuisine and hospitality on the edge of the border. More is not possible.
Very nice restaurant, attractively furnished and nice service. Food was good, but the last 10% of the very good is still missing. All in all, however, a good thing. Definitely try the court liqueur. Many thanks to the team from the Golden Cross !!
We had a fantastic meal here. I highly recommend it. Compliments to the kitchen. The service was also very attentive.
Food super delicious. Service attentive and very friendly. Gladly again.
Whenever we are in Coburg, a visit to the Golden Cross is a must ? the service is excellent. The food was always excellent. It was a pleasure.
Delicious food
Old cozy inn, quaint. Good Franconian cuisine. Great service.

Great food, nice service. We recommend!
Superb ??
Super delicious Schäuferla with Coburg slides. You can sit comfortably and comfortably inside and out. The waitresses on the evening were very attentive and very friendly. We will be back definitely.
Very nice restaurant with a long historical past. The service is extremely friendly and very attentive. The food was very tasty. I can only recommend a visit. EC card payment is possible.
A recommendation, but only for people who are willing to spend considerably more money than usual in Swiss francs. The food was great and the staff friendly without being pushy. The restaurant was renovated by the Stoschek family and looks very pleasant.
Excellant food and atmosphere
My wife and I had the pleasure of having dinner with a German Professor of Coburg University at this lovely and historic restaurant known as Restaurant Goldenes Kreuz (meaning, Golden Cross). We learned that this is one of the best in Germany. Established in 1508, the restaurant is the oldest building in downtown of Coburg. It serves the authentic taste of regional Franconian cuisine. “Traditional. Modern. Franconian” is its motto. The dishes we had was one of the best Franconian cuisines we ever tasted. The dessert “Home-made Coburg dumpling” was delicious and one-of-a-kind. If you ever get a chance to dine there, you will for certain enjoy its historic atmosphere of Franconian tradition. Oh, please don’t forget to try its home-made beer Kreuzrunk, which is very fresh and a pleasure to taste. If you have never visited Coburg. It is a very lovely , peaceful small town with a population of approx., 40,000. It is located on the Itz river in the Upper Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany. Since the town literally survived from bombings during World War II, it has many of the same historic buildings, such as the Veste Coburg, one of Germany's largest castles.
The very best location for regional, traditional and quality food in the centre of Coburg! No doubt - it's your duty to go there. And don't hesitate to order the 'Kreuztrunk'!
Good vegetarian options, nice place and good service.
I think this Is the best place for dinner
Top class! We were with a fairly large group and have reserved a few tables in the inn. From reservation to dinner everything was great! Our questions were answered very friendly by e-mail. The ambience is rustic and well maintained and the food was delicious! Especially the regional meat dishes and desserts. We ordered the main courses, everything was fast, even with repeat orders, although the restaurant was full to the last seat. We spent a fun and wonderful evening in the Golden Cross and come back anytime.
Tasty drinks.
It offers mainly traditional German cusine but with bit of smart modern touch. They also usually offer seasonal menus, that changes regularly, keeping the interest. But their attempt to go out of their usual comfort zone into other European dishes can come below their usual standard. I once tried their ''bouillabaisse" from the seasonal offer; it wasn't bouillabaisse but several fish fillets dipped in salty and blend broth. Nevertheless this is one of more interesting and reliable place to try in Coburg.
Very good food, goes quickly, even at the Samba Festival!
Home-style cooking, tasty, attentive service. Always worth a visit.
Decent food and beer. Good location. Thanks
Tried the local specialty, sausages with sauerkraut to which I added potato salad. The beer is excellent, both the clear and the red ones I liked a lot. Attention that as soon as they understand that you are Italian they try to cheat you on the account, which the local colleagues had promptly warned me about.
Very nice restaurant in the heart of Coburg !! We stayed here with a group of 14 people. The service was excellent. You were served politely and courteously. The food was served quickly The portions were sufficient and very tasty! ??? The ambience in this restaurant is unique and worth another visit !!!
